Sometimes it's good to be b.a.d.

Our mission is to promote safe diving education for all skill and interest levels

We accomplish this through:

  • providing opportunities for safe diving
  • educational monthly meetings
  • networking with current club members
  • hosting our annual Shipwrecks and Scuba conference
  • informational club Visibility newsletter

As members, we're all about our community. We strive to educate and advocate for all things scuba.

history

Bay Area Divers INC (B.A.D.) was founded in November 1983 with an initial membership of 25 divers. While membership has fluctuated over the years, B.A.D. averages about 70 club members annually.

In 1986 B.A.D. sponsored the first annual Shipwrecks and Scuba Conference which still continues on today and is regionally recognized for promoting diving and historical shipwrecks interest. Many nationally recognized speakers have appeared at our conference.

B.A.D. is dedicated to conservation, preservation, and education. By supporting historic shipwreck mooring programs throughout the Great Lakes, B.A.D. continues its long-term commitment to shipwreck preservation. Our beach and underwater cleanups help promote the conservation of our Great Lake Erie. Through committing to education, B.A.D. has given scholarships and sponsorships to help introduce those to the world below.
